This little cutie pie came and visited the studio for some fun Spring/Easter photo sessions. Mr D is 2.5 and he is at, in my opinion, the BEST age! I love doing toddler photo sessions! Their curious little minds, and bubbling personalities, make photographing a breeze. And In Mr. D’s case, he was absolutely adorable, and wasted no time getting behind my lemonade stand.
I love using props when photographing kids, toddlers in particular. It get’s them interested, and definitely helps ease any “pre photo-shoot” nerves. After all, they are usually just meeting me for the very first time, and sometimes it can be a little daunting. Especially, when they see a big camera pointed right at them. I frequently will ask them to play with different props I have on set. That way, it doesn’t seem like they are there just for photos, but to have fun playing with “toys”.
Mr.D made us lots of lemonade, and in turn, I was able to get lots of cute shots.
What to Wear for Toddler Photo Sessions?
When dressing these little munchkins, the MOST important thing to keep in mind is, COMFORT. As much as I love all the adorable little photography outfits, sometimes they’re not very comfy, and your little one won’t enjoy their session. Mr. D was dressed perfectly for his portrait session, and I love how his Mama stuck with neutrals. He was super comfortable, and it definitely showed in each and every one of his photos.
